Intensive Russian Attacks Disrupt Power Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have come under increased strikes in the past few days

Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have led to blackouts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were wounded while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and faced problems to water systems, as stated by city officials.

Meanwhile, a young boy was killed in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, according to area administrators.

Moscow has escalated assaults on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while officials has requested "concrete actions" from partner nations to exert influence on Moscow.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the US, European nations and the G7 - in providing defensive weapons and enforcing penalties," he wrote in a online statement.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty rockets struck energy facilities, characterizing such attacks as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were working to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles struck electrical systems and residential structures in the capital.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, according to municipal representatives.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region endured intense attacks throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child was killed and three other people were injured.

The attacks come after periods of bombing campaigns in the area, parts of which are occupied by Russian forces.

The entire country is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to identify.

Authorities told the media that Moscow was purposely seeking to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already impacting energy systems.

He said utility staff and authorities were preparing for further attacks.
